Death is a question that has left the best and the brightest people puzzling. What happens after you die? Well, many different religions support different beliefs about what happens to the human mind and soul after they die. What happens after you die? This is what the public thinks:
- Heaven and Hell – When you die, you will go to either Heaven or Hell. Heaven is a place believed by Christians, Jews, and Muslims, and it is said to be a holy place where there is peace and God, who is the center of all these religions. Hell is said to be a terrible place for suffering and unrest, where it is said that you are tortured for eternity.
- Reincarnation – You will be reborn as another being, whether it is another human, a plant, or an animal. Karma is another additional belief in this reincarnation, which is that your actions in your Earth/bodily form result in the consequences of your fate after you die.
- End of existence – As your bodily form ceases, so do your mind and soul. There is no feeling or anything else. You leave no other forms of existence besides the mark you go on the world.
- Life never ends – You live to haunt this world as a ‘ghost’ or just as your soul. Another close idea is living forever in a sort of ‘world of the mind,” being with your friends and family until the end of time in a white room or some other spiritual place.
- Past vision – After you die, you can see the past and historical events, whether before you were born or after. You can also see the events happening in the ‘present’ or Earth while you are proclaimed dead.
- The Dream Theory – Your life is just a dream; when you die, you will genuinely ‘wake up’ from the simulation that some people think life is. The theory says life is just a preparation for what happens when you die. Another theory is that you will wake up where you lived while you were alive in a separate reality from the place you once lived in.
- Dead Sleep – This is the theory that you die every night you go to sleep. This means every night that you close your eyes to fall asleep; you are dead as your mind and soul cease to exist. When your heart stops beating, you just do not come back alive. This theory says that being proclaimed ‘dead’ is just you are being asleep for the rest of your existence.
It is true that some people have died and come back to life. In most stories, the person’s death resulted in seeing a bright light or lights. There also seemed to be a repetitive feeling of wholeness, peace, and freedom. In many cases, other being
s seemed unlike any human being deceased people had known in their lives.
Most people who have died and returned to life have looked back upon their time on Earth and felt unsatisfied with it, as if they needed to return for some reason. All the people mentioned that they did not want to return – they felt how unclean their bodies were and wanted to stay in this soul-like state.
The same being that seemed to accompany the deceased person’s life sent the person back to their life once lived.
We may never truly know what happens when we die while we are living. Some jobs do have aspects that help us to know further about what happens after death, like a neuroscientist who studies brain activity. Some
neuroscientists have seen that the areas of the brain that control conscious thoughts are active, even in the person’s death. This shows that even though a person’s heart has stopped beating, their mind is ever-working.
