The Hidden Oaks Nature Center is a field trip for the 7th grade to learn about science. The people who went on the field trip had five stations. The first station was about biotic and abiotic factors and the kind of consumers there were. The first station also saw animals like frogs, snakes, and more animals that live here in Virginia. When they finished the first station, they went to the 2nd, with a little playground. In the indoor garden, there was a button in front of the picture of animals, and the buttons played an animal sound so you could hear what the animals sounded like if you didn’t know what they sounded like. There are also animals in the indoor playground kept in an enclosure. When you finish, you go to the third station where you learn about lakes and how we affect the lakes. When we finish talking about that, we do an activity where you pour things into a water bowl and see what happens. Everyone gets a pod with dirt, paint, rocks, and more stuff you can put in the water. The pod also will have a word, and the teacher who teaches us about the lake will say the word, and when she says the word, you put the thing inside the pod and put it in the water. We go outside for the next activity when it is all put in.
