The TSA team here at LJMS have participated in the qualifying event, and moved onto state! For now, we don’t know when state will happen and what will happen there, but we can tell you about the state qualifier and what happened.
For those who don’t know, TSA stands for Technology Student Association, which is a non-profit organization that helps kids in middle and high schools stay educated. All middle schools and high schools have their own TSA teams, which are made up of 2-4 kids. TSA has competitions which competes teams against each other to see who would win 1st place.
Bhavesh Adivi, Sir Pharoah Carter, and Arnav Choudhary, who are the members of our TSA team went to the qualifiers for state. The qualifier title was System Control, which means to implement a set of controls to make a machine work. The teams goal was to create a machine using the materials given to them which uses system control. LJMS’s TSA team created a machine that demonstrated planting “seeds”, which were just gears and other small objects, without needing to touch the machine at all. This machine was our ticket to victory, resulting in our team winning the qualifier and getting to move onto state!
During the writing of this article, we do not know the events nor the outcome of the state competition, but we can hope it will turn out well! Keep your eyes out for any updates about the TSA competition!!
