When most people think of the future, they may think of flying cars and super-fast vehicles. Scientists are developing things like flying taxis and high-speed trains. There was an idea that has been around for a long time but has never been invented yet is called the Hyperloop. It is a train that can reach up to 700 mph and reduce travel speed so much that it would take less than a quarter of the time to get there in an average car or train. It would be accessible for families with jobs or schools that are far away and have to move. Instead, they could take the hyperloop to school or work that is farther away.
Companies are also working on self-driving cars right now. The idea is to use artificial intelligence to control and drive the car without humans doing anything. Some companies, like Tesla, already have an autopilot feature. Many people don’t like this idea because they think it would be too dangerous. There have been accidents with current autopilot devices. The people working on it are trying to make it safer, but it may not be as secure as humans driving cars for another few years.
One more idea that engineers are working on is air taxis. They fly drones that can carry people to places like taxis or Uber. These could limit traffic on the ground and get people to the places they need to get on time. There is already development of these air taxis, and different companies are working on them. Air taxis may be closer, though. These could be starting to come out within the next few years.
