All you need to know about the upcoming dance

The Valentines Day Dance is going to be the first dance in the LJMS 23-24 school year. Many people are excited to attend their first ever dance. Naturally, they have some questions. Here are five things that you need to know before attending the Valentines Day Dance!

1 – You must have 3 or less unexcused tardies, & no ISS/OSS to attend

A dance is considered a reward and a time to have fun. Therefore, as long as you have these requirements, you’ll be able to buy a ticket and attend the dance. This serves as a reminder that you get fun prizes for being a good LJMS student.

2 – It is on Feb. 14th afterschool, both A & B sessions

It takes place on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14th, which is very fitting. The only downside is that Feb. 14th will be a Wednesday. It will be afterschool so that everyone has the chance to attend the dance, and late buses will continue like normal.

3 – Tickets will be sold for $2 at lunch, starting Feb. 7th

Tickets will be very cheap for only $2. There will be a station at lunch selling tickets, throughout all the lunch periods (A, B, C, & D). You can purchase tickets starting on Feb. 7th, and ending on Feb. 14th. They will check that you have a ticket before you enter the dance, so don’t try to pull any tricks!

4 – The dance will take place in the back gym

You will leave your stuff in the main gym before heading into the back gym to have fun and celebrate this lovely holiday! Remember to stay in the back gym at all times, unless you’re getting food from the food station (located in the little area between the main entrance, band, and orchestra).

5 – Food, drinks, & fun will be provided

Remember that this is a dance, and the point of a dance is to have fun! The dance is available to both 7th & 8th grade. You can go with your partner or go with a group of friends. Have fun in the moment and celebrate.

All in all, the Valentine’s Day Dance is exciting, being the first dance of the year. Wear red, white, or pink, enjoy the delicious food & drinks, have fun.
