If you’ve been at school for the last few months, there’s almost a guarantee that you’ve seen one of these Stanley cups, but what happened for these cups to appear in the hands of almost everyone? And are they really worth the hype?
These cups can hold up to 40oz of liquid and can keep beverages warm or cold for hours at a time. They also seem to be able to withstand extreme conditions, as there was a story where a Stanley cup survived a car fire, while still holding the ice inside! There are lots of varieties for the cups as well, ranging from size, color, and types of cups. So, if you want to get a Stanley to add to your aesthetic, keep up with trends, or just because you think they’re cool, go ahead, but just know there’s a flip side to these cups.
Stanleys are surprisingly expensive, being up to $35 for a 30oz cup, and $45 or a 40oz cup. You can always get a regular cup for a lot less, and it will (most of the time) have the exact same features as Stanleys! There also seems to be a bit too much hype for these, mainly because they seem to make people crazy over them. When Target started to sell these Stanleys, people would wait until the store opened and almost raced to see who could get a cup first.
So, are Stanley cups worth it? Some people would argue that they are, others would argue that they’re not. I say, do what makes you happy, whether it’s spending your money on a Stanley, or getting a different kind of cup.
