If you are reading this between the years of 2020-2025ish+ you are probably in the realm of remembering the coronavirus. Yes, it is that virus that has been on news reports, media, YouTube, and probably is or was in your city. If for some reason you are not aware of this virus that has become a worldwide pandemic, I will give you a short history lesson about it. The corona virus started out in China where it was a epidemic there, but since people like to transport their germs by traveling, it started to spread around the world. At first, it wasn’t taken too seriously when it was only in China, but then once millions became infected and thousands died, it became a worldwide catastrophe. So, what are we doing now? We are living in quarantine! What is quarantine? How is it related to you? Here is a video explanation:

To recap, living in quarantine is pretty boring. People have been self isolated in their house to avoid spreading the virus. It may sound crazy, but it’s actually a good thing people are doing this. Some kids or young adults don’t care about the virus because the virus mainly targets the older generation, so young adults and kids decide to continue living their normal lives and hang out with their friends. Actions like this are what causes the virus to spread. So, it is very important to stay inside.

How people get their groceries and necessary house accessories? If you watched the video, you would see how it is explained that people may leave to get necessary food and medication. But other than that, you may not leave the house.

You might be wondering how people avoid spreading the virus when out to get necessary things. The government actually started to make it required for people to wear masks when out shopping. The reason why the government was doing this is because masks started to sell out online and in stores which made it really hard for people to access. There was actually a case where people would sell homemade masks and sell them for $8 each, which was way overpriced, but people were desperate enough to buy them. Here are some images of what the masks look like.

Near the end of March 2020, the coronavirus caused sports, parties, schools, and basically everything that’s social  to shut down or cancel. At this point, there wasn’t even a reason to go outside. When the coronavirus shut down schools. Schools started to do virtual online classes. This meant children could still learn while in quarantine. Unfortunately, things such as sports or social activities couldn’t be done online.

In the end, there is only so much we can do. Doctors and Nurses are working day and night to provide medical treatment to fight against the coronavirus.  The government is trying to work on safety issues, and the general public is trying to be in self quarantine. The important thing to remember is that we are all in this together. No one is alone in this fight.  Some ways you can help is by donating to the World Health Organisation (WHO) or just try your best to stay isolated in quarantine.
