My first tip is to write down your goals and how you want to reach them. This is because when you write them down, you already have a plan that you can execute at any time, instead of wasting so much time thinking how you are going to do it. Road maps work great because they can show step-by-step what you want to do and how you are going to do it. Lastly, keep a journal. When you have a journal, you can practice reflecting on what happened during the day, which is essential for self-improvement.
My second tip is to start with the bare minimum; do not have your routine look like all study and no play. That will not last for more than a week, trust me. If you want, maybe a year after staying consistent with your routine and not missing a day, then you may tamper with it for more productivity or whatever you want. Staying consistent is important as it is the whole reason why you even begin the journey.
My third tip is to reward yourself for the milestones you achieve on the way. For example, after one month, maybe you can treat yourself to ice cream or whatever you think one month of dedication deserves. By doing this, you are giving your brain a reason to continue and it will motivate you to complete the next month of productivity.
My fourth tip is to focus on YOUR progress. This is because social media can have negative effects on your progress. I am sure that you have seen videos of people showing off their accomplishments and that probably made you feel bad about yourself. But remember, their chapter 20 isn’t your chapter 1. This means, that to be great, you have to spend time and dedicate yourself to your goal (you have to be obsessed with it). By doing this, you get rid of those bad feelings.
My fifth tip is to focus on consistency. This means not to skip days because that ruins all of the progress you have made before you stop. So even if you are exhausted and you had a long day, just stick with it (trust me, you will feel better about it). However, if you are sick or you have a viable excuse, then it will be acceptable as guilt from missing the last day. This will motivate you to finish today. Consistency is extremely important to see results.
