Why Should I Have a Clean Room?
According to an article, it states that there are five benefits of having a clean room. For example, one of the benefits is having better quality sleep because of the clean sheets on your bed. A messy room is linked to many other problems such as anxiety and depression. However, a clean room could start your day off on the right foot. The second benefit of having a clean room is instant gratification. For example, there were probably items in your room that were taking up place and making it feel congested, but when you got rid of it, you felt as if your room just got bigger. The third benefit of having a clean room is that you will be more productive. For example, suppose you are studying or working and you need to find a pencil to write something down. Due to you trying to find it, you have lost your concentration. Just like a snowball, a messy room can get messier and messier until you clean it. The fourth benefit of having a clean room is decreased stress. A clean room can make you feel better by having an area you are proud to be in. Lastly, the fifth benefit of having a clean room is improved health and happiness. For example, when was the last time you walked into a room and felt mad because it was clean? Never.
What is the Difference?
The difference between having a clean room and a messy room might not be so bad. For example, even though a messy room might lead to anxiety and depression, it could also show heightened creativity. This is because a messy room might show that you do not care about living up to social norms and that you might feel more comfortable in your own area (where you can be even more productive). However, do not take this the wrong way for a dirty room; a dirty room might lead to an increased chance of catching a cold. But what if you do not have time? Then keep it tidy. The difference between keeping a room clean and keeping a room tidy is that when you keep a room tidy, you take out the clutter like maybe a shoe on your bed or your clothes on the ground. This is way faster than cleaning and vacuuming your room. Keeping a room tidy could give you all the benefits of having a clean room but just less time and energy into making it clean. You should still vacuum your room at least once a week; most of the time, it is on weekends when people are usually free.
