
Early 2000s fashion
Technology and many different fashion trends had an impact on the 2000s. Metallic and shiny palettes were in the rage, the Y2K style was a daily style as well as mesh tops and/or handkerchief tops. Box pleated, leather skirts, shiny pants, and sparkly shoes were in style mainly for men.
Mid-2000s fashion
In the mid-2000’s, they started to wear yoga pants, low-rise jeans, cowl-neck shirts, peasant tops, capri pants, cropped jackets, and dresses over jeans were a huge trend for women. These clothing items were usually paired with chunky belts, sunglasses, jelly bracelets, and ties around the neck or as belts. For men, it was light-washed bootcut jeans, cargo shorts, rock t-shirts, cowboy shirts, henleys, popped collar polos, and seersucker shirts. More items were released such as juicy couture tracksuits, Louis Vuitton bags, and Von Dutch Trucker hats.
Late 2000s fashion
Many of the styles from the early to the mid-2000s carried into the late 2000s but, crop tops were replaced by camisoles, miniskirts, bubble skirts, and sweater dresses. Neon colors, animal prints, shapes, jeggings, and ripped, washed jeans were also in fashion. Men’s fashion in the late 2000s was black leather jackets, slim-cut jeans, overcoats, Ed Hardy t-shirts, V-neck sweaters, and flannel shirts. These were often paired with dad hats, motorcycle boots, sneakers, converse, and vans.
Types of fashion in the 2000s
Hip-hop style, streetwear, Y2K, emo, scene, and athleisure were the main types of fashion in the 2000s!
