
Introduction
Chappell Roan is an American singer and songwriter who has been becoming a new sensation. After the release of her latest album, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess”, Chappell Roan’s rise began as many of her new songs became very popular on social media. She’s known for her drag queen aesthetic and queer experiences, but overall loved for her indie-pop songs. You might’ve heard her most famous song which was also nominated for a Grammy, “Good Luck Babe”, and although it didn’t win, Chappell Roan won the Grammy as ‘Best New Artist’.
Growing up
The star was born with the name Kayleigh Rose Amstutz in Missouri, but later created her stage name Chappell Roan. She grew up very conservative and religious as Roan attended church several times a week and Christian summer camps. At the young age of 10, Roan had already found an interest in music and played piano. Only three years later, Roan did her first performance in a school talent show. Chappell Roan released her first song, “Die Young”, in 2014 when she was 16. When she was 17, Roan got signed to the label Atlantic Records.
The Rise of a Midwest Princess
Although Chappell Roan has been making music for years, she only really started becoming famous last year in 2024. Her song, “Good Luck, Babe!”, became popular on social media platforms such as Tiktok and reached number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100. From there, her popularity only grew after the release of her album, “The Rise and Fall of Midwest Princess”.
