When winter break season is approaching, lots of people decide to go on vacation. But what if you’re just planning to stay home over the break? Here are a list of things you can do at home when Christmas is coming up, all simple and fun ideas.
1. Decorating your house
Decoration is such a fun activity to do, whether it’s with friends, family, or even alone. You can decorate a Christmas tree indoors, or you can hang up some cute hanging snowflake decorations on your window outside. Another fun idea is to hang up green and red LED lights in your room.
2. Baking cookies
Christmas-themed or winter-themed cookies are easy to make and taste amazing! Gingerbread cookies are a great option, especially in the Christmas season. Or you could just make regular chocolate-chip cookies and share them with your loved ones.
3. Christmas party
If you’re allowed to, throwing a Christmas party is really fun. You can do it at your house and invite your family, friends, or classmates! You can even serve your homemade cookies at the party if you want.
4. Film some Christmas dances
I’m sure you’ve all seen people doing Christmas dances over YouTube, TikTok, and other social media platforms. You could invite your friend over and film some of those dances together, or get creative and make your own! Then, you could either keep them in your camera roll to watch in the future, or post them on your social media if you’re comfortable with that.
5. Watch a movie
There are so many good Christmas movies online, whether it’s free on YouTube or available on a Netflix subscription. During Christmas, you can snuggle up and watch a fun Christmas-themed movie with your family, like Home Alone or The Grinch.
6. Read a story to your sibling
If you’ve got a little brother or sister who happens to love Christmas (because let’s face it, what little kid isn’t head over heels obsessed with the concept of Santa Claus?) a fun idea is to read a Christmas/winter book to them!
7. Give out gifts
Some people like to give rather than receive. If you’re one of those people, you can give gifts to your loved ones. A few good ideas are sweaters, shoes, and cards.
8. Do karaoke
You can do this at a karaoke place, or just alone in your room. You could sing pop songs, Christmas carols, or anything you want really. If you have the time, you could even invite a few friends over to sing together!
