The world these days is unpredictable. But have you ever wondered about crime, more specifically, cases of kidnapping? If so, here is a story for you. Ann Gotlib was only twelve years old when she disappeared while at a Louisville mall, called the Bashford Manor Mall, and now she’s fifty. To this day, her parents are still searching endlessly for her.
The only trace of Ann found around the mall was her bicycle leaning against a nearby department store. Police and authorities have done many investigations over the years, and they found a suspect in January of 1984, by the name of Gregory Oakley. Oakley was on a business trip at the time of Ann’s disappearance, and the police had to do investigations in three different states. He ended up getting arrested, serving a twenty-year sentence before being let out on a medical notice, dying shortly after. But what happened to Ann remains unknown. Is she dead? Is she still tied up in some headquarters? Or is she perfectly fine? That has yet to be discovered, and it hasn’t been for almost 40 years.
This case is a bit dead now. In recent years, new information hasn’t been released on the Internet. Her father, in 2023, died while still waiting on his daughter’s long-awaited return. Her mother, on the other hand, is still determined to find her missing daughter one day. But her mother must be old, if Ann herself is already 50, if she is still alive. Will her mother live to see her child ever again? We don’t know. Over the years, there have been multiple suspects, but only one got arrested. If it was the wrong person, the kidnapper may still roam free on this planet to this day. Will they hurt, kill, or kidnap more people? Or will they call it a career? A rather strange choice for a career, if you ask me. This case is now known as “Louiseville’s Greatest Mystery”. Do you think it lives up to its name, or no?
