A new variant of Monkeypox has been found in the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as several other countries in Africa. This new wave of Monkeypox is said to have stronger symptoms than clade LLB which started in 2022, increasing concern in the medical industry. It is currently cruising across the globe and has recently made its way to America. So far, no schools have officially shut down and will most likely not shut down at all. Even so, the fear of Monkeypox has spread across the internet and is worrying students across the U.S.
Its source has yet to be determined, but luckily, there is only a 3.2% chance that one will need serious medical attention if you experience symptoms. The majority of those with Monkeypox tend to recover in two to four weeks without treatment.
As of now, there is no remedy that will work 100%, but ointments or medicine such as Benadryl could help relieve the itching sensation. Until you are clear of symptoms, it is best for both yourself and others if you can isolate yourself somewhere safe. Chances are, if you keep your hands to yourself and wash your hands frequently then Monkeypox should not be much of your concern.
