In 7th grade it’s a different world, because you’re not an elementary school student anymore. You’re no longer playing around like in elementary school. In middle school you can only be tardy for the first week of school. You do not want to be late to class after the first week of school because at the end of the quarter there is a reward that is waiting for you, if you weren’t tardy more than three or four times a quarter. In addition, the rewards can be free food, early release, playing games for a few hours before school ends, and more.
In middle school there is recess, but it’s only 15 minutes long. It depends if you have indoor or outdoor recess. At LJMS you have a different lunch schedule, but your teacher tells you and your class lunch which you are assigned to. Lunch is scheduled for 5/6 period. The lunches are A,B,C and D, if you have band, strings, or gym in 5/6 period then you have a guaranteed D lunch. LJMS has different buses, in total, there are 25, because we all come from different elementary schools.
In LJMS there is a policy that you can’t leave class in the first 10 minutes or the last 10 minutes. Teachers believe this is for your safety. In addition you need a pass when you are going to leave class. If you don’t, a teacher will ask and the teacher will take you back to your class and you can possibly get in trouble. If LJMS has an open house then you should come because you can meet your new teachers! You can come with friends, family, and more. You want to go because you will have an idea where your classes are and maybe if you have any of your friends. In the open house there are students that come from different schools. If you do get lost remember that you can always go and ask the nearest teacher “where is the six hundred hallway”?
If you don’t have friends from that period then that’s your chance to make some new friends! LJMS is a welcoming middle school! But just remember to try not to get in trouble because there may be consequences but it depends on what you did. In conclusion, LJMS is not that bad for the first week if you do not like any of your classes then you can email your counselor to see if you can meet up and change your schedule.
