In recent years, CGI Quality has dropped significantly. The effects were the worst in movies like The Flash (2023) and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023). Many people blame the CGI artists, but it’s not their fault. Big movie studios like Marvel don’t give the artists enough time and overwork them.
The reason this happens to Marvel is that they ask for a lot of changes before the release, where in one case they changed the ending to a movie 1 month before release. They also bid cheaply for their VFX studios to save money. They also make too many movies—50 hours in Phase 4 alone, more than the last 3 phases combined.
Marvel is also very inconsiderate of the VFX artist’s process. For example, they ask for finished renders when the artists have only started their process. This happens because most Marvel directors can’t visualize what the rough CGI would look like on set.
In conclusion, Marvel keeps rushing products out, not giving VFX artists enough time to work. This creates bad CGI, that with the poor writing, puts the MCU in a bad place. Hopefully, it will get better in the future.
