This year, LJMS is receiving a robot dog for use in the school. The robot was donated by the manufacturer so that LJ could find ways for this robot to be used in other schools. The robot is a Unitree GO1 quadruped, a high-speed and durable robot. It has a top speed of 17 kilometers per hour and can detect objects in its way. This robot could be used for all sorts of tasks, like patrolling the hallways, carrying equipment, or delivering messages from the office. The robot should arrive about halfway through the 4th quarter, and students from Mr. Smith’s Engineering 2, 3, and 4 classes will be working to get it running.
