Though the character are likeable and engaging it is hard to read with all the perspective shifts. I believe it would be better if it had a focus on Lin & Jovis’s plot.
Plot 10/10
The plot has many exciting twists and turns. It’s shocking and heartbreaking at points, and it really makes you hurt. The story is both logical and unexpected.
Concept 10/10
The magic system of bone shard’s is inventive and new. The concept of the war with the Alanga is interesting and attention-grabbing. The backstories of the characters are tragic and heart-felt.
Conclusion 27/30
I personally enjoyed this book, I do believe I could have enjoyed this book more if it had a more trained focus on two or three characters rather than the amount it did, however I still really liked this book. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy books.
