CICADAS ARE BACK
It’s not just you, many of us thought cicadas only emerge every 14 years. However, it’s been confirmed that these fascinating creatures are about to make their return, marking a unique and natural cycle.
Throughout most of the USA, multiple bugs will be coming out from the ground and back to swarm around outside.
If you’re unfamiliar with these bugs, rest assured they are harmless creatures that do not bite or sting.
While the purpose of cicadas may seem unclear, they play a crucial role in our ecosystem as a primary food source for birds and other animals.
So you can say they are meant to live in the ground for a while and then come out just to be eaten.
Where they will appear
This is a map of where they will appear, and as you can see, there will be some in Virginia where we currently are or, well, most of us.
Don’t be scared of these bugs. They mean no harm even though they have red eyes. They are just bugs trying to live their life, and by the way, you can pick them up and try them for yourself. I sure have done it before.
Cicada skin
Most of us have been some random bug skin, likely hanging on a tree or just any way. Well, these are from the cicadas.
When they shed their skin, it gets left behind, and then they go on living their everyday routine.
