Some people are born with disabilities that they will need help to get around with such as blindness. There are dogs out there who are trained to help and lead people around. Some people who are blind and can’t see have dogs who lead them around and help them go places. Not all dogs can become service dogs though. They need to go through a special training to become service dogs.
Service dogs get trained very young. Most get trained within 6 months to 1 year old. It can take up to 6 months to train a service dogs. There are many different types of service dogs. Some lead blind people to places. Others can sniff out seizures and can warn they’re owner when the owner will have a seizure so the owner can lie down and take precautions before the seizure occurs.
Therapy dogs can be emotional support for people with mental health problems and veterans with PTSD from war. There are places where service dogs get trained all over the place. Any dog can become a service dog but it is better for them to start learning and training when they are younger.
