What is Lent? Lent is the holy Christian observance, and is 40 days, in which Christians give up something they love, like sweets, social media, and drinks. Or, they give up something that they love, but is terrible for them, such as cursing, smoking, using God’s name in vain, etc. The whole reason for this is to test their self-discipline, as it represents Jesus’s sacrifice when he fasted in the desert. They also fast every Friday during Lent. Now, why do they do all of this? Well, during this season, Christians reflect and remember the events leading up to and including the death of Jesus Christ.
