The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting events in the USA and it is coming up. The Super Bowl will be on February 11th 2024. This is the 58th Super Bowl to happen. This game is similar to the Super Bowl 54 back in 2020 because the same two teams are playing against each other in it. The two teams are the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The last time they played each other in the Super Bowl in ended with an impressive score of 31-20 with the Chiefs winning. The last time the 49ers won the Super Bowl was in 1995. The Chiefs won’t be an easy opponent though because they have won 4 Super Bowls in the last 5 years.
Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Chiefs, has played in quite a few Super Bowls before, but this will be the 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy’s first Super Bowl. Purdy was the last pick in the draft last season which means that when teams picked players, he was the last person to be picked. He was drafted as a 3rd string quarterback so he wasn’t expected to play at all. But in last season the first two quarterbacks got injured so Brock Purdy got a chance to play.
