Almost everyone gets distracted while studying or doing homework. If you are one of those people and need help staying focused, here are seven tips to ensure maximum productivity!
#1- Find an ideal workspace that you can focus in. Being in a quiet and comfy space is a way most people find helps them focus the most. When your workspace is quiet and has no distractions, staying focused and getting your work done can be constructive. But remember, don’t get too comfortable because you’ll fall asleep! Sit upright with good posture and keep on some bright lights.
#2- Don’t procrastinate! Procrastinating is when you put something aside and wait to do it until the last minute. Study right when you can, and only bring up new plans with friends if you’re entirely done studying. Don’t be one of the people who say, “It’s okay; I’ll do it later.”
#3- Set up a study schedule. Something like a planner or something you can write on is a great way to remember when you should study. Studying simultaneously every day is a great way to get into the habit of studying.
#4- Keep devices out of sight. You should only be on your devices if you’re doing your schoolwork online. Putting your phone across the room or in a drawer is an excellent way to keep your phone away. You can also keep your phone near you, but ensure you’re not using it for non-educational purposes.
#5- Get enough sleep. Sleep is essential to being productive and having a successful day. If you lack sleep, you’ll be tired and want to sleep during the day instead of studying. It would be best if you were sleeping 8-10 hours every night to wake up refreshed the next day.
#6- Stay hydrated and well-fed. Being hydrated can help you feel more refreshed while studying. Eating before and during studying can also help keep your energy up. Having a glass of water and a small snack next to you while learning can be helpful. Snacks I’d recommend could be protein bars, fruit and veggies, and other healthy foods that can energize you.
#7- Be prepared. Have everything you need while you’re studying beside you. You need to have the right resources to ensure the flow of your studying is smooth. Keep some extra pencils, pens, and other supplies near you so that if you suddenly need them, you already have them.
