The FCPS dress code is all about making sure students dress in a way that is appropriate and respectful. It’s important to wear clothing that doesn’t distract others or cause disruptions in the learning environment. This means avoiding clothing with offensive language, images, or symbols.woman carrying white and green textbook

It’s also important to dress modestly and avoid clothing that is too revealing or suggestive.

When it comes to tops, shirts should cover the shoulders and midriff, and they should not have low necklines or spaghetti straps. Tank tops and sleeveless shirts are allowed as long as the straps are at least two inches wide. For bottoms, shorts and skirts should be an appropriate length, meaning they should reach at least mid-thigh. Leggings and yoga pants are allowed, but they should be worn with a top that covers the hips and buttocks.

In terms of footwear, it’s important to wear shoes that are safe and appropriate for the school environment. This means no flip-flops or shoes with open toes.

Hats and head coverings are allowed for religious or medical reasons, but they should not cover the face or obstruct the view of others. The dress code also extends to accessories and grooming. Students should avoid wearing accessories that could be considered dangerous or disruptive, such as chains or spiked jewelry.person standing near brown concrete wall

Remember, the dress code is in place to create a positive and respectful learning environment for everyone. By following these guidelines, we can all contribute to a great school experience.
