Luther Jackson Middle School is hosting the First Annual ESTEEMFest from June 5th-9th 2023!  This fun and interactive event will include STEAM stations and speakers for classes to visit throughout the school day (8:00am-2:00pm) that week.

A Google Spreadsheet or Sign-Up Genius will be sent out to teachers in May for them to sign their classes up for events to take part in each period. The date of the sign-up’s release, the specific kind of form, and how to sign-up for each activity is to be determined.

Things to expect:

• NVCC Speakers & SySTEMic Program
  • Students and staff from the North Virginia Community College will come to speak about different aspects of STEAM.
• AVID Presentations
  • The LJMS AVID department will be discussing careers in STEM and presenting students’ work.
• Science Presentations
  • The LJMS science department will be showcasing their curriculum and students’ projects. 7th grade science has been learning about Environmental Science and 8th grade science has been Investigating Matter and Energy. 
• Learning Undefeated Explorer Lab
• Aquaponics Lab – As Featured on Multiple News Stations!
• Solar Panel Station
• Tents with Activities
• Engineering Projects & Tools Display
• U.S. Air Force Drones Presentation
• VEX Robotics Representatives & Robot Display
