The record-breaking firework was launched over Steamboat Springs, Colorado on February 8th. The firework rose 670 meters in the air before exploding, painting the sky a bright red. The successful attempt weighed around 1270 kilograms, which is roughly the size of a small car! The shell was over 7 inches thick and measured 62 inches in diameter. Steamboat Fireworks, led by Tim Borden, tried to break the record in 2019, but the shell exploded too early.

This relates to engineering because you have to plan out and construct the firework.
