Simple Electric Glider

By: Andrew Hawkins

Have you ever wanted to add flight time to your glider? This simple electric powered glider is easy to make and will do just that.

To make it you will need:

  • Glider – In this case one from a dollar store.
  • Small motor that weighs a couple of grams from an old toy, you can also use a motor that you’ll find in an old electric toothbrush.
  • To power the motor use a small Li-Po battery with 3.7v and 100mAh.
  • Breadboarding wire to solder to the motor so that it is easy to plug it into the Li-Po battery.
  • Heat shrink tubing or electric tape to prevent the wires from shorting.

In addition you’ll also need

  • Hot glue gun
  • Soldering Iron and Solder
  • Double sided foam tape
  • USB Lipo charger to charge the battery.
