Graffiti is a really old form of art that has changed a lot over time. The first graffiti can be traced back to ancient Eqypt and Greece, where people would carve pictures and write messages on walls in public places. In ancient Rome, graffiti was even more common and was seen on buildings, public baths, and places like Pompeii. Back then, graffiti mostly had names, love notes, and simple messages.
In the 20th century, graffiti became more popular, especially in cities like New York in the 1960s and 1970s. During this time, graffiti became a bright and creative way for people, especially young people. to express themselves.. When hip-hop culture started growing in the late 1970s, graffiti became even more popular. Artists began tagging subway trains and public places, turning them into moving artworks.
