Robots Taking Over

You might think robots are stupid and will always be lesser beings. Thanks to advanced coding they might predators to your job some day.

At the University of Maryland, researchers noticed that it took a lot of time to code a robot to do specific things. They decided to teach a robot things through its sensors and have it mimic those moves.

Now, robots watch videos and other people to learn how to do things. At a conference in St. Louis researchers demonstrated by having a robot watch a person put together a cocktail and mimicked it with the right order and amount of juices.

Some learning methods include a trained computing system watch videos and use sensors to recognize and associate robotic movement with the people’s movement while other sensors cope with how much is used and how to recognize the different objects. Another is where the robot hangs out with people and learns from them how to do things. There is a lot to learn, but it is significantly faster than coding it all.

This relates to engineering and is a STEM feat because this saves time coding and trains robots much faster. Sadly, a few issues are that these robots can replace you and that they are much cheaper to employ than you. This relates to engineering because the engineering design process was used in this and these robots will be used to engineer things in the future.
