Many people know the Titanic as the “Unsinkable Ship” that sank. The Titanic was a very big steamship designed to carry many people. It was not designed to be able to withstand against many hits. It sank after hitting an iceberg.

The Titanic only had 16 lifeboats. With that many boats, only a third of the passengers aboard could have been rescued.

This is related to engineering because it describes something that was built. The Titanic was built by engineers who planned and figured out how much supplies they needed.
