A molecule, named G0775, created to penetrate the double cell wall of gram-negative bacteria like Escherichia coli, ‎Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii. G0775 was about 500 times more potent than natural arylomycin. It was able to kill 49 isolates of the multi-drug resistant bacteria listed before. G0775 had no toxicity to mammalian cells (mice), but real challenge is to get it approved to antibiotic standards.

This relates to engineering, because scientists had to create this new molecule and engineer it to attack gram-negative bacteria and destroy it.
