The Fastest Car in the World

The Koenigsegg Regera is the new world’s fastest car, the  Keonigsegg Agera RS had been the world’s fastest car previously as well. Koenigsegg’s new car the Regera has a top speed that cannot be safely tested. Koenigsegg officials however say that the Regera is by far the fastest car they have ever made.   It can go at least 260 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds.  The Regera is considerably lighter than any other hyper car in it’s league. Weighing in at only 3,500 lbs. The car is also a hybrid running on electricity and gas. And although its Koenigsegg’s fastest car yet, its not to heavy on the wallet of a rich man. It’s one of Koenigsegg’s least expensive cars coming it at just $1.9 million. The car is formatted on a direct drive system that allows the car to produce more power to the wheels than any other car before it. But Koenigsegg didn’t sacrifice luxury for speed. The Regera is sporting memory foam seats with heated steering wheel, and smooth gear shifting paddles. But Koenigsegg wanted the car to be recognized from afar. So they added scattered LED’s in the lamp cluster (lights) to make it look as though it were encrusted with diamonds. But not only that a retracting 8 inch spoiler that allows the car down have a greater down force on the road allowing more control. The new Koenigsegg Regera is and probably will be the fastest car in the world for years to come.

This relates to engineering because Koenigsegg engineered a new way to produce more power in the engine, while also using hydraulics and electricity to provide a smooth and speedy ride. That’s why the fastest car in the world is related to engineering.
