Nike’s newest shoe is called the HyperAdapt 1.0 and it can tighten your shoe laces so you don’t have to tie your own shoes. These shoes have a battery, sensor, motor, and cable system all built into the shoe. When you insert your foot the shoe sensor senses it and tighten your shoe till you take your foot out, so no more shoe laces coming untied. You can also adjust the fit of your shoe with just a click of a button on the shoe. The cost of the shoe is $1,000.

This is related to engineering because an engineer had to figure out how build a system into a shoe. The engineer had to find out how the sensors would detect the persons foot and how long the battery life on the shoe would last.
