Regenerative Brakes

Regenerative Brakes

By: William Salisbury

Regenerative braking works by essentially changing your electric motor into a generator. It convents the kinetic of your car moving to potential energy which is stored in the battery. This saves between 8 to 15 percent energy ( it depends on the vehicle and the type of traffic it is in).

This is important for engineering because it allows us to get better gas mileage helping decreasing our carbon foot print giving us a brighter future for man kind live in.
