How Solar Panels Work

How Solar Panels Work

By: Ameen Al Ameen

Solar Panels work by allowing particles of light to strike electrons off atoms, making a flow of electricity. Solar panels are composed of Photovoltaic cells, small units linked together to transform light to energy. To function, these cells need an electric field. However, the energy needs to be turned into usable power by using Metal conductive plates. Solar panels are an effective way of clean energy.

This relates to engineering because they convert light energy to electricity. It is an effective way of clean energy, but may be expensive.
